Snip It! ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We believe in plain language — no legal jargon.
The short version: we collect only what we need to run the app, we never sell your data, and you can delete everything at any time.
Account information — your email address and display name when you sign up.
Coupon data — store name, discount amount, expiry date, barcode value, and any notes you add. This is stored securely in your account.
Coupon photos — when you scan a coupon, the photo is sent to our AI provider for processing. Photos are used only to extract coupon details and are not stored by us or our AI provider after processing.
Approximate location (city-level) — we derive your approximate city and country from your IP address. We never collect exact address, GPS coordinates, or precise location. Used solely for aggregate analytics, never tied to your individual identity in anything we share or publish.
Usage data — basic analytics such as which features you use, crash reports, and app performance data. Anonymised and aggregated.
To create and manage your Snip It! account, and sync your coupons across your devices.
To process coupon photos through AI scanning and return the extracted data to you.
To send expiry reminders (if you have notifications enabled).
To understand the geographic distribution of our users at a city level and improve the app using anonymised usage analytics.
To respond to support requests you send us.
We use a small number of trusted third parties to run the app:
Supabase — provides our database and authentication infrastructure. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant. Learn more at supabase.com/privacy.
Anthropic — provides the AI that reads your coupon photos. Anthropic does not store the images after processing and does not use them for training. Learn more at anthropic.com/privacy.
ipapi.co — provides the city-level IP geolocation lookup described above; no exact address or GPS location is ever requested or received. Learn more at ipapi.co/privacy.
We do not use advertising networks, third-party trackers, or analytics that identify you personally.
Your coupon data is stored in a secure database managed by Supabase. Access is protected by row-level security — you can only access your own data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Full stop.
Access — view all your coupon data inside the app at any time.
Deletion — delete individual coupons, or your entire account and all associated data, from account settings. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Export — contact us at snipitcoupons@outlook.com to request a copy of your data.
Notifications — disable expiry reminders in your device settings at any time.
Analytics opt-out — turn off usage and location analytics any time from Settings in the app.
Snip It! is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
